Rural Ontario & Quebec A driving holiday between Montreal and Toronto

A chance to see the parks and beauty of central Canada as you travel the highways and byways of Ontario and Quebec. The highlights of this driving holiday will be Niagara Falls in Ontario, Algonquin Park and the villages of the Laurentian mountains. If you have time, we strongly recommend driving to the alpine village of Tremblant as well as Tadoussac on the St. Lawrence River where not only will you find pretty villages and good food, but you will be able to see and hear the beluga whales.
You will fly into Montreal, Quebec and out of Toronto, Ontario (or vice versa) and be driving between the two; there is no charge for dropping your hire car.

Fly to Toronto and transfer to your downtown hotel. Spend 3 days in the city which will give you time to explore Toronto as well as take a day trip to Niagara Falls which is included in the price. Take a trip up the famous CN Tower, take advantage of the great shopping available, or catch a hockey or baseball game.

Toronto to Algonquin Park & Muskoka
Collect your car from downtown Toronto and drive north to Algonquin Park, staying either in the town of Huntsville or within the park. Algonquin Park is glorious at any time of the year with good wildlife viewing, autumn colour, hiking and canoeing amongst the highlights.
3 nights in Algonquin Park.
Algonquin Park & Muskoka to Buckhorn
Drive through Ontario passing the Lake of Bays and the Haliburton Highlands to the Kawartha Lakes. This is a very pretty area much loved by Canadians.
2 nights in Buckhorn.
Buckhorn to Montreal
Cross over into Quebec and a different world. Montreal will be your first stop. A chance to shop and catch up on city life.
1 night in Montreal.
Montreal to St Alexis des Monts
Back into the countryside today. Drive into the hills to the attractive village of St Alexis des Monts. As well as plenty of good walks, you can canoe, swim and relax in the comfortable surroundings of your hotel.
3 nights in St Alexis des Monts.
St Alexis des Monts to Quebec City
Your final couple of days will be in the 400 year old city of Quebec. Here you can soak up the history of the area as well as enjoy the many good restaurants. You might like to take a trip on the St. Lawrence or take a day trip to Tadoussac to see the beluga whales.
1 night in Quebec City.
Cross the St Lawrence and return to Montreal via the Eastern Townships in time for your overnight flight home.
