This excellent and easy route takes in the best of Quebec allowing you to see not only the vibrant cities of Quebec Province but some of the beauty of the province's countryside. The fall colours are at their best at the end of September /beginning of October, but this self drive holiday is good at any time of year. There are no long driving days, just some comfortable hotels, good food and splendid scenery - surely the best combination for a self drive holiday.

Highlights will include historic, walled Quebec City, the Quebec autumn colours and the alpine village of Tremblant.

Day 1-2

Montreal

On arrival, transfer to your downtown hotel where you will spend the next 2 nights exploring this cosmopolitan city. Spend time exploring the old port and old Montreal, as well as maybe taking in Mont Royal and mixing the old and new and visiting the many galleries, museums and cafes.

Day 3

Montreal to Bromont

Collect your car and cross to the south shores of the St Lawrence as you make your way to one of Quebec’s most popular and picturesque regions.  The townships history of Abenaki natives, American loyalists and French Canadians has woven a fascinating heritage. Explore the antique shops, cheese and wine shops and the unique markets make this region a very popular location for discovery and indulgence.

Day 4-5

Bromont to Quebec City

Continue your journey through the picturesque villages heading back once more to the shores of the St Lawrence for a 2 night stay in Quebec City.  Meander through winding cobblestone streets, quaint boutiques and eat in world class restaurants.  Also to discover are the historic sites, all within the only walled city in North America.

Day 6-7

Quebec City to St Alexis des Monts

Travel along the shores of the St Lawrence once more, heading for the town of St Alexis des Monts on the edge of the Reserve Faunique Mastigouche for a stay in a very tranquil setting.  Spend the rest of the day, and the next, exploring the hiking trails around the lake or perhaps try your hand at fishing (permits can be obtained) or maybe kayaking or canoeing, or just spend the day relaxing.

Day 8-9

St Alexis des Monts to Tremblant & The Laurentians

You will travel today through the many eclectic small towns and villages of the Laurentian Mountains to the last hotel of your holiday.  Tremblant is a picturesque village at the foot of the Laurentian peaks and has lots of activities to fill your day; explore the mountain trails or even take in a round of golf.

For the last day of your holiday, take the picturesque road south to Montreal for your return flight to the UK.
