The railways are a great way to travel around Canada. Whether you choose to take to the rails on the Canadian train as it wends its stately way across the country between Toronto and Vancouver, the luxurious daylight only Rocky Mountaineer train, the VIA Skeena train between Jasper and Prince Rupert or one of the many trains around the Eastern seaboard, you will be joining the ranks of those early railway men who formed Canada. The Rocky Mountaineer train, designed especially with you in mind, travels through the day and stops for the night and ensuring you don't miss any of the phenomenal scenery and yet have a comfortable bed for the night.

There are 3 main routes operating in both directions -

Vancouver to Banff/Calgary

Vancouver to Jasper

Vancouver to Whistler

VIA Rail

VIA Rail Canada

The crown owned VIA Rail services travel from Halifax in the East to Vancouver in the West and up to Hudson Bay in the North, using beautifully restored 1950’s trains. There are two levels of service on each of the longer journeys and we recommend the first class service for the ambience and comfort, although the economy seating is an affordable way to experience Canada.

There are 4 main routes operating in both directions -

Between Prince Rupert & Jasper - The Skeena
Between Montreal & Halifax - The Ocean
Between Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal & Quebec City - The Corridor
